Concept rebuilds of real UK stores

Every page here was rebuilt around the sale.

Six real UK stores we rebuilt on our own initiative, as concept work. For each one: the problem, the fix, why we made it and how we would measure it. Click through every live rebuild yourself.

Client case studies.

Our first client case studies go here once we have real before and after numbers.

Coming once the numbers are real

Each one will show the store before and after, what we changed, and the revenue, conversion rate and average order value we measured.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by SISTERLY

Daily multivitamin · Product page

SISTERLY

Women's daily multivitamin · sisterlylab.com

Open the concept rebuild: SISTERLY, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a lifestyle photo, a headline and a vague Start your ritual button, with no product or price
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the product, its rating, a subscribe or one time choice with the free gifts and the Add to basket button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • No product and no price on the first screen
  • A vague Start your ritual button that does not say what happens next
  • The best offer is hidden in a thin banner above the logo

The fix

  • Product, price and the subscribe or one time choice on the first screen
  • Free gifts and the real saving shown where you pick a plan
  • Rating and the pause or cancel any time promise right by the button

Why this fix

A shopper on a product page needs three things before anything else: what it is, what it costs and how to buy it. The original page led with a lifestyle photo and a button that did not say what happens next. Putting the product, the price and the plan choice in one view makes the first screen the decision, and showing the gifts and the saving where the plan is picked puts the offer at the moment it matters.

How we would measure it

Metric
Add to basket rate: the share of product page visits that add to basket. We would also watch how many people choose the subscription.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by Loka

Stovetop chai maker · Product page

Loka

The stovetop Chai Maker · weareloka.com

Open the concept rebuild: Loka, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a full width photo of chai being poured with a headline, and no product, price or button on the first screen
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the Chai Maker, its 4.6 rating, the price, the strainer and Starter Set choices and the Add to basket button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • The first screen is a lifestyle banner, with no product, price or button
  • Add to cart sits far down the page, well below the first screen
  • The strainer choice and the Starter Set offer only appear once you scroll

The fix

  • Product, price and Add to basket on the first screen
  • Strainer and Starter Set choices made simple, side by side
  • Free shipping, 100-day returns and the warranty right by the button

Why this fix

Anyone who lands on this page has to scroll before they find the price or a button. Bringing the product, the price and Add to basket onto the first screen removes that hunt, and putting the strainer and Starter Set side by side turns a hidden choice into an easy one.

How we would measure it

Metric
Add to basket rate on the product page, and how often the Starter Set is chosen.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by The Bespoke Carpentry Co

Live edge tables · Product page

The Bespoke Carpentry Co

Live edge dining tables · handmade-furniture.co.uk

Open the concept rebuild: The Bespoke Carpentry Co, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a full width photo, two equal buttons, a hidden desktop menu and a chat bubble over the page
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the table photos, the price with the sale saving, and the timber, size and leg choices with the Add to basket button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • The desktop menu is hidden behind a hamburger icon
  • Two buttons of equal weight compete for the first click
  • A chat bubble sits on top of the page

The fix

  • Timber, size and legs picked in one place, with the price changing as you choose
  • The sale saving and the 6 to 8 week make time shown right by the button
  • The full menu and the workshop phone number visible on desktop

Why this fix

A live edge table is a big, considered purchase. People want to know what their exact table will cost and how long it takes to make, without leaving the page. Choosing timber, size and legs in one place with the price updating, and the make time by the button, answers both where the decision happens. The full menu and the phone number help people who want to ask first.

How we would measure it

Metric
Add to basket rate, plus calls and contact form messages from the product page, because big purchases often start with a question.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by Wagging Rights

Dog car seat · Product page

Wagging Rights

ISOFIX dog car seats, Bath · waggingrights.co.uk

Open the concept rebuild: Wagging Rights, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a countdown banner, a product photo, an outline Add to Cart button under a louder Buy with Shop button, and a 70% off box
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the Dog Dock, its 4.7 rating, the price and saving, the size and colour choices and the Add to basket button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • A countdown, a 50% sale and a 70% off box all compete on the first screen
  • Add to Cart is an outline button, quieter than the purple Buy with Shop button
  • Which size fits your dog is only shown in gallery pictures

The fix

  • One clear price and saving, with a single Add to basket button
  • Size cards that say which breeds fit, with every price shown
  • Free next day delivery, free returns and the lifetime warranty by the button

Why this fix

When three offers compete at once, none of them feels believable, and a quiet Add to Cart button under a louder Buy with Shop button sends people the wrong way. One clear price, one main button and size cards that say which breeds fit remove the guesswork that stops people buying a car seat for their dog.

How we would measure it

Metric
Add to basket rate, and, once orders come in, how many returns are for the wrong size.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by RUCI

Wellness subscription · Product page

RUCI

Monthly supplement and skincare box · ruci.uk

Open the concept rebuild: RUCI, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a box photo, a title and a long description, with no price and no Add to cart button on the first screen
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the box, its 5.0 rating, the £30 monthly price, what is in every box, when you are billed and the Subscribe button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • No price and no Add to cart button on the first screen
  • The 3 month minimum is hidden at the end of a long description
  • The 5.0 rating shows as bare stars, and the reviews sit at the bottom of the page

The fix

  • Price, what is in every box and the Subscribe button on the first screen
  • A simple timeline that shows when you pay and when you can cancel
  • The rating and review count right under the title

Why this fix

A subscription asks for a longer commitment, so people want the price, what they get and how cancelling works before they sign up. The original page hid the price and the 3 month minimum. Showing the monthly price, what is in every box and a simple billing timeline up front means nobody is caught out later.

How we would measure it

Metric
Subscription start rate: the share of product page visits that start a subscription. We would also watch early cancellations.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.

Concept rebuild, not commissioned by Konk

Solid oak beds · Product page

Konk

Solid wood furniture, Bristol · konkfurniture.com

Open the concept rebuild: Konk, opens in a new tab
The original page
The original page: a tall photo of a pink wall, a small title and a block of spec text, with the options and Add to cart below the first screen
Our rebuild
Our rebuild: the whole bed, its price with free delivery and assembly, the timber and size choices and the Add to basket button, all on the first screen, opens in a new tab

The problem

  • The first photo shows a pink wall, with the bed cut off at the bottom
  • A block of spec text pushes the options and Add to cart below the first screen
  • Only a From price, so you cannot see what your size and timber cost until you pick from two dropdowns

The fix

  • The whole bed, the price and Add to basket on the first screen
  • Timber and size picked with one tap each, with every price shown up front
  • Free delivery and assembly and the 3 to 4 week make time right by the button

Why this fix

A bed is chosen on how it looks and what it costs in your size and timber. The original first photo showed a wall, and the real price only appeared after two dropdowns. Showing the whole bed, every price up front and one tap choices makes it easy to compare, and the make time and free delivery by the button answer the next question.

How we would measure it

Metric
Add to basket rate on the product page, and how many people change the size or timber before they add.
Test
An A/B test on the same traffic: half of visitors see the original page, half see the rebuild. We would run it for at least two full weeks, so weekdays and weekends both count, and until the difference is clear rather than noise.
